BBL Construction Services held its fourth annual End of Summer BBQ Picnic and Grillmaster Competition, bringing employees together for an informal team-building event as the company closed out the summer season.

Employee Engagement Through Team Activities

Eight BBL employees participated in the 2026 Grillmaster competition, preparing dishes for evaluation by a six-member judging panel. The judges selected the top three participants based on their entries.

Beyond the competition, employees took part in outdoor games and sampled the food prepared for the event. BBL Hospitality provided additional food, side dishes and beverages for the gathering.

Company Culture and Workforce Engagement

The annual event adds a social component to BBL's broader employee engagement activities, providing an opportunity for employees to interact outside their regular project and office responsibilities.

For construction companies, informal team events can complement workplace initiatives focused on employee interaction and organizational culture, particularly for workforces operating across multiple construction and management functions.

Why It Matters

Employee engagement activities can provide construction organizations with opportunities to strengthen relationships among team members and create connections beyond day-to-day project work. BBL's annual summer event continues that approach through a recurring company-wide gathering.
