Boviet Solar Technology Co. Ltd. has reached a major milestone in its U.S. expansion strategy, officially beginning interior construction at its advanced 3.0 GW PV cell manufacturing facility in Greenville, located in Pitt County, North Carolina. Following the completion of the building’s exterior structure — including roofing and walls — the project is now transitioning into critical operational development stages.

The company launched construction in January 2025 and reports that the timeline has remained on track. The site marks Phase II of Boviet Solar’s broader push to expand manufacturing capacity in North America, ensuring a reliable domestic supply of high-efficiency solar cells as federal incentives and clean-energy goals drive demand for U.S.-made solar components.
This new facility will directly support and supply Boviet Solar’s nearby 3.0 GW PV module factory, which entered mass production earlier this year. Once fully operational in the second half of 2026, the PV cell plant will help establish a vertically integrated solar production hub in the East Coast region.
Along with advancing energy innovation, the project promises to deliver a significant economic boost. Boviet expects the Greenville factory to create more than 900 skilled jobs, including roles in engineering, automation, materials science, and high-tech manufacturing.

“We are excited to see steady progress on our Greenville PV Cell Factory project,” said Marco Marquez, General Manager of Manufacturing Operations at Boviet Solar USA. “With exterior construction completed and interior work now underway, we remain firmly on track to bring this facility online in the second half of 2026. This expansion demonstrates our strong commitment to U.S. manufacturing and our vision of building a robust, vertically integrated solar production base on American soil.”
Leadership also emphasized how the investment aligns with national clean-energy priorities and improves supply chain reliability amid ongoing geopolitical pressures and tariff uncertainty.
“This milestone marks another important step in Boviet Solar’s long-term growth strategy,” said Sienna Cen, President of Boviet Solar USA. “By expanding our production capabilities in the United States, we are not only supporting domestic content and job creation but also enhancing supply-chain resilience for our customers. Our goal is to deliver bankable, top-quality solar products while helping accelerate the nation’s clean-energy transition.”
Industry analysts note that Boviet Solar’s expansion reflects a larger trend — major solar manufacturers are increasingly shifting production to the United States to meet domestic content requirements under the Inflation Reduction Act, while reducing reliance on foreign imports.
When complete, the Greenville manufacturing hub will play a key role in strengthening the U.S. renewable energy footprint and helping utilities, developers, and commercial customers meet aggressive decarbonization targets.
