A change in executive leadership at a major employee-owned contractor comes as infrastructure and construction activity continues to span transportation, heavy civil and other markets across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
Branch appointed Josh Goyne as chief executive officer effective Aug. 17, placing an executive with more than two decades of infrastructure and operational experience at the head of its business. Goyne will oversee the contractor's enterprise strategy and operations as Branch continues developing its regional presence and capabilities.
Goyne's career covers highway, rail, underground and renewable energy construction, along with senior management responsibilities across large construction organizations.
At Lane Construction, Goyne served as chief operating officer and was responsible for operations across a business valued at approximately $1.2 billion. His responsibilities included operational performance and business improvement across multiple markets and geographic areas.
Previously, Goyne held leadership positions at Webber, including president of its Heavy Civil Division. He oversaw an approximately $800 million operation with responsibilities spanning growth strategy, workforce development, project delivery and operational performance.
Earlier positions at AUI Contractors, Austin Bridge & Road and Kiewit Construction provided experience across project and operational management.
Goyne holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, an executive MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed the Global Management Program at ESADE Business School.
Branch is headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, with additional locations in Chantilly, Chesapeake, Glen Allen, Charlottesville, Burnsville and Morrisville. The contractor serves clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.
