New multifamily construction in established urban markets requires coordination between residential, commercial and below-grade components within constrained sites. In West Los Angeles, an 81-unit mixed-use development at 11905 Wilshire Boulevard has entered construction, with Build Group selected to lead the ground-up building program.

Seven-Story Mixed-Use Development

The project will rise seven stories and combine residential and commercial uses on a site near Wilshire Boulevard and Westgate Avenue.

Plans call for 81 residences positioned above ground-floor retail and restaurant space. The development will also include one level of subterranean parking.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place Aug. 25, marking the start of construction. The project was developed by Radha Group in partnership with Willow Street Capital.

Build Group will serve as general contractor, overseeing construction of the residential and commercial components and coordinating the project's multidisciplinary delivery requirements.

Project Team and Delivery

Radha MFH CAL, LLC is the project owner, with Radha Group serving as the ownership group. Willow Street Capital is the development partner, and Cumming Group is providing project management services.

Carrier Johnson + Culture is the architect.

The project adds new housing and commercial space to a major Los Angeles corridor while requiring coordination of above-grade residential construction, ground-floor commercial uses and subterranean parking.

Why It Matters

For multifamily developers and contractors, mixed-use projects require construction sequencing that accommodates residential, retail, restaurant and parking functions within a single building program. The Wilshire Boulevard development also demonstrates continued demand for ground-up multifamily construction in established Los Angeles neighborhoods.

The combination of 81 residences with commercial space provides a project model that integrates housing and street-level uses within a single urban development, creating coordination requirements across multiple building systems and uses.
