BZI Salinas Project Creates Jobs, Launches Community Program

BZI’s Salinas construction project and Bakersfield office are fueling economic growth in the region, offering job opportunities and contributing to local businesses. The ongoing project in Salinas has already created new jobs, and BZI is seeking additional workers, including welders, bolters, iron workers, safety reps, and more. The company also announced the launch of its Community Contributions Program, beginning in Salinas, with plans to expand nationwide.

BZI’s efforts go beyond job creation. The company is investing over $400,000/month in employee housing, benefiting local suppliers, restaurants, and vendors. BZI's presence has already provided a significant boost to the Salinas economy. In addition to its construction work, BZI is participating in the Salinas job fairs on April 23 and May 27, 2025, to fill more positions. The company encourages local workers to visit their booth at the Monterey County Works Job Fair.
"At BZI, our mission is to create positive economic impact wherever we work. Our team members help elevate communities through job creation and contributing to local businesses," said James Barlow, BZI CEO. "Our work culture and ongoing initiatives are rooted in our core values of trust, respect, and integrity, which guide us in supporting local communities."
In line with its mission, BZI’s Community Contributions Program is designed to promote education, vocational development, health, and wellness within the communities they serve. The program's first initiative will support the Food Bank for Monterey County, reinforcing the company's commitment to giving back to the community.
BZI’s work culture has earned national recognition, with a strong emphasis on safety, career development, and mentorship. The SteelTech Academy, a unique training center for BZI employees, offers extensive vocational, technical, and leadership training, with certifications that enhance skills across multiple disciplines.
"Safety is at the core of everything we do at BZI. Our goal is to provide a safe work environment, and we achieve this through ongoing training, safety reinforcement, and policies that exceed industry standards," said Jesus Cadena, BZI's Chief Safety Officer.
BZI’s commitment to its workforce, community, and safety continues to set new industry benchmarks for excellence.
