Caddell Construction announced the promotion of Warren Wheat to Construction Executive, strengthening the company’s leadership bench as activity in the data center and mission critical markets continues to grow.

Wheat joined the contractor in 2019 as a senior project manager and has since managed large-scale projects for major clients across the company’s commercial operations. His work has included oversight of active mission critical developments, a sector where schedule certainty, operational continuity and technical coordination remain top priorities for owners.

In his new role, Wheat will continue leading data center and mission critical programs for designated clients while also focusing on mentoring and team development initiatives.

Company leadership said the promotion aligns with broader efforts to support client relationships and operational growth within rapidly evolving construction markets.

The move comes as contractors across the United States continue expanding leadership capacity to meet sustained demand for hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure facilities and other mission critical developments. The sector has become one of the fastest-growing areas of commercial construction, driven by artificial intelligence adoption, cloud computing expansion and enterprise digital infrastructure investment.

For contractors, leadership experience in mission critical work has become increasingly valuable due to the technical complexity and accelerated delivery schedules associated with modern data center projects. Owners are placing greater emphasis on teams capable of coordinating specialized systems, supply chain logistics and high-performance operational requirements.

Executive promotions tied to data center operations also reflect the growing importance of long-term client relationships in the sector, where repeat work and program continuity can drive substantial backlog growth for national contractors.

Wheat holds degrees in business administration and construction management and brings more than two decades of industry experience to the role.
