Carolinas AGC Reveals 2024 Pinnacle & Excellence Award Winners

Carolinas AGC (CAGC) has awarded the prestigious 2024 Pinnacle Awards to four exemplary construction projects, recognizing their positive impact on local communities. The association also honored Senator Ross Turner with the “Build with the Best” Pinnacle Award for his significant contributions to the industry.

Pinnacle Award winners are selected based on unique project challenges, management excellence, budget adherence, schedule, and safety performance. Additionally, nine projects were named Construction Excellence Award winners, showcasing outstanding contributions to the construction industry across North and South Carolina.

The CAGC Pinnacle Awards competition is co-sponsored by GreerWalker LLP and Johnston, Allison & Hord, and the awards ceremony took place at CAGC’s 104th Annual Convention in Charleston, SC.

"Build with the Best" Pinnacle Award

– South Carolina District 8 (Greenville County)
Senator Turner played a pivotal role in passing legislation that requires construction work zone training for all new drivers in South Carolina, making it the third state to enact such a law.

  1. 71 Wentworth, Charleston, SC
    General Contractor: Trident Construction
    The renovation of this 19th-century Charleston landmark, originally designed by John Henry Devereux, was restored after decades of disrepair.
  2. North Carolina State Capitol Renovation, Raleigh, NC
    General Contractor: Muter Construction
    Renovation of the state's most iconic structure, including a copper roof replacement, HVAC updates, and exterior repairs.
  3. Hurricane Florence MILCON Package 4 Bridges, Camp Lejeune, NC
    General Contractor: Archer Western
    The replacement of two vital railroad trestles to improve rail traffic critical to national security.
  4. Harkers Island Bridge Replacement, Harkers Island, NC
    General Contractor: Balfour Beatty Infrastructure
    A $60 million project constructing a new 3,200-foot bridge to replace the Earl C. Memorial Bridge.
