Carrier Global Corporation has signed an agreement to acquire Air Temp Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., expanding its commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service and building controls operations in Upstate New York.
The proposed acquisition will bring Air Temp’s commercial HVAC and controls expertise into Carrier’s business. The companies expect the transaction to strengthen regional service capabilities and expand support for commercial and industrial customers.
Based in Binghamton, Air Temp also operates offices in Syracuse and Utica. Its services include HVAC repairs, preventative maintenance and new installations for commercial and industrial facilities.
The company works with a range of HVAC and building automation systems, providing services that help facility owners and operators maintain building equipment and control systems.
The acquisition is expected to broaden Carrier’s ability to deliver HVAC services and controls solutions in the region. Building automation systems can help manage heating, cooling and other building functions, while ongoing maintenance and repair services support equipment reliability.
Carrier serves commercial markets that include data centres, healthcare facilities, schools, retail centres and office buildings. The announcement did not disclose the financial terms of the proposed acquisition or provide details about any planned operational changes following closing.
The agreement is definitive, but the acquisition has not yet been completed. Carrier expects the transaction to close in the coming months.
Until closing, Air Temp remains a separate business. Further details about integration plans, staffing or service operations have not been announced.
The proposed acquisition reflects Carrier’s expansion of its regional commercial HVAC service and controls network. For building owners and facility operators in Upstate New York, the deal brings together an established local service provider and a larger climate-solutions business, although any changes to customer services or operations remain unconfirmed.
