CCA Construction, Inc. (CCA), CCA Bahamas Ltd. (CCAB) and CSCEC Bahamas Ltd. (CSCECB) have announced a major breakthrough in their longstanding legal dispute with BML Properties Ltd. (BMLP) regarding the Baha Mar resort project. The companies revealed they have reached a comprehensive settlement that brings an end to years of complex litigation across multiple jurisdictions, marking a significant moment for all parties involved in one of the Caribbean’s most high-profile development conflicts.
Under the agreement, BMLP will withdraw all claims filed in both the United States and The Bahamas against CCA, CCAB, CSCECB and their affiliates. This conclusion comes without any admission of liability by the construction companies. The settlement is now awaiting approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey — a final procedural step that CCA anticipates securing in the coming days.

As part of the resolution, CCAB will maintain ownership of the British Colonial and Margaritaville Beach Resort properties. The company emphasized that these hospitality assets will continue to contribute long-term value to The Bahamas’ tourism economy and support the local community.
The settlement follows a series of legal actions that had escalated throughout the Baha Mar dispute. CCA, CCAB and CSCECB had filed a motion to appeal a prior decision by the New York State Supreme Court. At the same time, CCA pursued a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing to protect the interests of its stakeholders while litigation unfolded in parallel.
The new agreement effectively concludes all ongoing legal challenges at both the New York Court of Appeals and within The Bahamas’ judicial system. This brings long-awaited clarity to a dispute that has influenced regional development, international partnerships and the future of the large-scale resort project.

Yan Wei, Chairman & CEO of CCA, emphasized the importance of ending the dispute and beginning a new chapter for the company, stating:
“We are pleased to have successfully resolved this matter and to move forward with clarity and certainty for our employees, customers and partners. While we remain convinced by the strength of our legal arguments, bringing this matter to a close is in the best interests of our stakeholders and will allow us to focus fully on our strategy for delivering world-class construction projects and hospitality operations to our customers. We thank our team and partners for their continued support and look forward to many opportunities together. We also want to extend our appreciation to the people and businesses of The Bahamas for their continued friendship and trust as we look to deepen our relationships in the country.”
The company’s renewed focus now shifts back to project delivery, regional partnerships and continued involvement in large-scale infrastructure and hospitality developments across the U.S. East Coast, Gulf Coast and The Bahamas.
