The City of Newnan has officially reopened Greenville Street Park following the completion of a series of upgrades designed to improve the park's functionality for public events and community gatherings.

City officials joined representatives from New South Construction, Comprehensive Program Services, Goodwyn Mills Cawood, and Ironwood Design Group to celebrate the completion of the project during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Park Upgrades Expand Community Event Capabilities

The improvement project added a modernized performance stage equipped with audiovisual capabilities and increased seating capacity, creating a more versatile venue for concerts, festivals, and civic events.

City leaders said the enhancements are intended to strengthen Greenville Street Park as a community gathering space while supporting future recreational and cultural programming.

Mayor James Shepherd noted that the improvements were made possible through funding from the city's Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program, which supports local capital improvement projects.
