Construction owners and property developers in southern Indiana are seeing another regional contractor enter the market as CodeShield Construction Group begins operations in Evansville. The locally owned business will target both residential and commercial construction work, including renovation projects, roofing installations and tenant improvement assignments across the Tri-State region.

Founded in 2026 by Evansville contractors Ted Pease and David Grimes, CodeShield Construction Group will operate from an office on North First Avenue in Evansville. The partners previously worked on residential and commercial projects in the area before forming the new company.
CodeShield Construction Group said its residential operations will include kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home additions, basement finishing projects, siding installation and replacement window work. The company also plans to perform whole-home renovation assignments.
Commercial services will include ground-up construction, tenant build-outs and renovation work for existing commercial facilities. The company stated it will oversee project administration from permitting activities through final inspections.
Roofing operations will cover installation and repair work involving asphalt shingle, metal, flat roof and thermoplastic polyolefin systems. The business also intends to provide storm damage repair services tied to hail and wind events.
The Evansville-based contractor said each project will be assigned a dedicated project manager. CodeShield Construction Group also reported that it is licensed and insured for its operations in the region.
The Tri-State area surrounding Evansville includes portions of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois, creating opportunities for contractors involved in commercial renovations, residential upgrades and storm recovery work. Demand for roofing and exterior repair services has remained active in many Midwest markets due to severe weather events and aging building inventories.
The launch of another locally based contractor adds capacity to the Evansville-area construction market at a time when owners and developers continue seeking regional firms capable of handling both residential and commercial scopes. For property owners, the addition of contractors offering project management, roofing and renovation services may increase bidding competition and expand available subcontracting resources for smaller-scale developments and rehabilitation work.
