Consigli Construction Co. has appointed Al Martino as regional director for New Jersey and Pennsylvania, placing him in charge of regional operations, client relationships, business development and people management.
Martino brings experience across complex facilities and programmes for global clients, with a focus on life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing. His background includes working on the owner side of facility development and operations, giving him insight into the technical and regulatory requirements of specialised construction projects.
In his new role, Martino will oversee Consigli’s activities across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including client engagement, business development and team management. The appointment supports the contractor’s regional growth and expands its leadership resources for existing and prospective clients.
Martino most recently served as director of site planning, strategy and controls at Roche. He previously held project management and strategic operations roles involving life sciences clients, including Nestlé Health Science and Merck.
Martino’s experience includes facilities operating under Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Laboratory Practice requirements. These environments require close attention to compliance, operational risk and specialised building systems.
Consigli expects his background to strengthen its life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing practices across its broader portfolio. His owner-side experience may also help project teams align construction delivery with clients’ operational requirements in highly regulated facilities.
Martino holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a graduate certificate in pharmaceutical manufacturing from Stevens Institute of Technology.
