Cornerstone, ACC Open Southeast Alaska Hub

JUNEAU, Alaska — July 23, 2025 — Cornerstone General Contractors has officially expanded its Alaska footprint by teaming up with Juneau-based Alaska Commercial Contractors, Inc. (ACC) to open a new Southeast regional office — a move that aims to boost local capacity for commercial, civic, and remote projects across the region.

Unlike a typical one-off joint venture, this collaboration includes shared office space and operational alignment, strengthening both companies’ presence in Southeast communities such as Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Petersburg, and beyond.

Fourth Hub Strengthens Statewide Reach

Cornerstone’s new office opened on July 14, operating from inside ACC’s headquarters at 10221 Glacier Highway in Juneau. The expansion marks Cornerstone’s first permanent physical presence in Southeast Alaska, adding to its three other statewide locations: the company’s Anchorage headquarters, an Interior regional office in Fairbanks, and a Northwest hub in Nome.

With more than 100 professionals employed across Alaska, Cornerstone has delivered major projects such as the UAA Alaska Airlines Center, the South Peninsula Hospital expansion, and the Northern Pacific Airways North Terminal renovation.

Building Together: Combining Strengths

“Our team has partnered with project owners in Southeast Alaska for decades, so launching a permanent office inside ACC’s facility is the natural next step in giving people their best construction experience,” said Joe Jolley, President of Cornerstone. “By combining Cornerstone’s three decades of building expertise with ACC’s deep local knowledge, we will deliver projects faster, more safely, and with even greater community benefit.”

Founded in 2007, ACC is an established Southeast contractor offering design-build, vertical and civil construction, and specialty concrete services. Its portfolio includes the expansion of the Juneau Masonic Center, major renovations at Stedman Elementary School in Petersburg, and interior upgrades for Delta Air Lines at Juneau International Airport.

“ACC has proudly served Southeast Alaska since 2007. Sharing office space with Cornerstone strengthens our shared mission to keep our Southeast commercial, civic, and remote construction work in the hands of hardworking Alaskans,” said Doug Courtney, ACC’s President.

Supporting Local Projects with Regional Impact

By joining forces under one roof, Cornerstone and ACC aim to improve response times, expand project delivery capabilities, and support more local jobs in Southeast communities — an area where weather, transportation, and remoteness often pose unique construction challenges.

The companies plan to collaborate on new municipal, commercial, and infrastructure projects, continuing their track record of partnering with Alaska communities to deliver high-quality facilities that meet local needs.

This new Southeast hub reflects Cornerstone’s commitment to investing in regional economies, creating opportunities for Alaska’s construction workforce, and ensuring projects are built by Alaskans, for Alaskans.
