DCA Pathway Closes for Avengers Campus Expansion

Caroline

Guests at Disneyland Resort will soon notice a major change in the flow of foot traffic at Disney California Adventure Park (DCA), as a well-used pathway between Avengers Campus and Cars Land is set to temporarily close for a significant construction project.

Disneyland officials have confirmed that starting Tuesday, April 29, the pedestrian route connecting the two themed lands will be shut down to allow for work tied to the Avengers Campus expansion.

“The walkway is expected to remain closed until next summer while crews build a new restroom facility and other construction continues on the Avengers Campus expansion,” said Scott Gustin, a Nexstar reporter who first broke the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The closure, though temporary, will likely reroute many guests who commonly use the shortcut to traverse the park efficiently. During the construction period, visitors will be redirected to other pathways to access either land.

The restroom addition is just one part of a much larger transformation. Avengers Campus is set to double in size, with two immersive attractions currently in development: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.

In Avengers Infinity Defense, parkgoers will be recruited to join the Avengers in a battle against King Thanos, a villain exclusive to the Marvel multiverse attraction. Riders will travel across multiple dimensions and fight alongside heroes like Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Hulk.

Meanwhile, Stark Flight Lab will put guests inside “gyro-kinetic pods” that roll along a track before connecting with a massive robotic arm. This arm will lift riders into the air, performing a series of high-speed movements inspired by Iron Man and his fellow Avengers.

Although the construction will impact navigation through the park in the short term, the expansion is expected to enhance DCA’s appeal as a destination for Marvel fans once completed.

An official opening date for the new attractions has yet to be announced.

With the scale of the expansion and guest experience in mind, the temporary closure reflects Disney's broader strategy to elevate its Marvel offerings while investing in improved infrastructure.
