Doster Construction has broken ground on a new four-story medical tower at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Georgia, launching an expansion designed to increase hospital capacity and healthcare services across South Georgia.
The Hufstetler Tower is part of the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation’s Reaching New Heights in Healthcare campaign. Doster Construction is serving as general contractor, with TMP Architects leading design and Noli White Group providing project management, equipment planning and IT coordination.
The Hufstetler Tower will expand Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s licensed bed capacity by 56 beds, increasing the total from 99 to 155. The additional space is intended to support growing demand for healthcare services throughout Moultrie, Colquitt County and surrounding communities.
The tower will include a women’s unit and expanded surgical and outpatient services on the first floor. Three additional levels will provide new patient space, supporting service lines that include surgical, maternal and infant care and critical care.
The expansion is also expected to support the addition of approximately 35 physicians and 490 jobs as the medical center expands its operations.
TMP Architects is responsible for the project’s architectural design, while Noli White Group is providing project management, equipment planning and IT coordination. Doster Construction is overseeing construction as general contractor.
The project also includes enhancements to the Kate Jeter Memorial Garden. The outdoor area is planned as a more comfortable setting for patients, families and healthcare staff, while interior design elements will incorporate influences from the surrounding natural environment.
The groundbreaking marks the start of construction on the tower and represents a significant healthcare infrastructure investment for the South Georgia region.
The Hufstetler Tower will add inpatient and outpatient capacity while expanding key healthcare services at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. The project also demonstrates how hospital expansions can combine additional clinical capacity with workforce growth and improvements to the patient environment.
