DPR Construction has secured the No. 3 position on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) 2026 Top Green Contractors list, advancing from fourth place in 2025. The ranking recognises contractors based on revenue from construction services on projects registered with or certified by third-party organisations that assess environmental performance, energy efficiency or carbon emissions.
Announced on October 16, 2026, the recognition reflects DPR’s continued efforts to incorporate sustainability into project planning, procurement and construction operations.
DPR is expanding its use of lifecycle analysis, guidance for lower-carbon materials and environmental product data to help project teams evaluate construction options and reduce environmental impacts.
The company’s initiatives also include assessing embodied carbon, conserving water, advancing zero-waste practices and increasing the use of lower-emission construction equipment.
According to DPR’s 2025 Global Social Responsibility Annual Report, water conservation strategies on major projects saved more than 48 million gallons of freshwater during 2025.
DPR Construction CEO George Pfeffer said the company continues to seek ways to build more responsibly, working with customers and partners to improve project outcomes and reduce long-term environmental impacts.
Across ENR’s Top 100 Green Contractors, green contracting revenue rose 5.9% in 2025 to $101.9 billion, according to the ranking announcement.
The sector continues to face challenges as owners balance sustainability targets with rising construction costs, labour constraints and changes in federal policies.
DPR is also working to improve environmental transparency through its Path to Regeneration initiative, which outlines an approach to reducing carbon emissions across its value chain. Improvements to environmental data collection and reporting are intended to help the company track performance and strengthen accountability.
The ranking highlights the growing role of environmental performance in construction, as contractors adopt strategies to reduce resource consumption, lower emissions and improve sustainability across project lifecycles.
