
DPR Construction is highlighting four projects across healthcare, education, mixed-use development and sustainable infrastructure, showcasing how prefabrication, self-perform work, virtual design and construction, and collaborative delivery are being used to address complex project requirements. The company published the project showcase Aug. 31, 2026.
At Lulu’s Place, a 34-acre campus under construction in Los Angeles, DPR established an on-site yard where crews fabricate install-ready wall assemblies. The approach allows teams to verify dimensions and openings before installation while coordinating utilities and site infrastructure through virtual design and construction.
The campus is expected to serve more than 10,000 young people annually and is projected for completion in mid-2027. Lincoln Property Company, RIOS and Sherwood Design Engineers are partnering on the project.
In Atlanta, DPR is delivering the Grady Crestview Rehabilitation Center expansion for Grady Health System. The three-story, 70,000-square-foot addition will provide 124 beds along with therapy, activity and support spaces.
The project team incorporated prefabrication into the work, including two three-story elevator systems assembled off-site before being installed as complete units. DPR said the strategy reduced on-site work while supporting quality, safety and schedule certainty. Completion is projected for November 2026.
DPR also highlighted Waterline, a 74-story mixed-use tower in downtown Austin. The 2.7-million-square-foot development combines residential, office, hotel, retail and parking uses.
Construction required extensive logistics and sequencing planning in a constrained urban environment. DPR performed a 3,213-cubic-yard foundation mat pour and developed a customized vertical transportation strategy to move workers, materials and systems through the 74-story structure.
The tower reached completion in July 2026 after a 48-month construction period, two months ahead of schedule. DPR said more than 6,800 skilled workers and 150 trade partners contributed to the project.
At the University of Virginia, DPR completed the 18,800-square-foot Fontaine Central Energy Plant and Utilities Facility in April 2026. The facility is designed to support up to 1.4 million square feet of planned campus development.
The all-electric system incorporates 102 geothermal wells, low-temperature hot-water distribution, heat-recovery chillers and geothermal energy storage. A design-assist approach was used to coordinate design and construction decisions, with the project completed ahead of schedule and below budget.
Together, the projects illustrate how construction teams are increasingly combining prefabrication, field self-performance, digital coordination and energy-efficient infrastructure strategies to improve project execution. For owners and contractors, the examples also underscore the importance of early coordination, logistics planning and delivery methods that address schedule, cost and operational requirements before work reaches the field.
