The project represents a major step toward expanding healthcare infrastructure in the region and establishes the foundation for subsequent phases of the hospital campus.
The first phase will deliver a three-story Education and Administration Centre, a 700-space parking garage and essential site infrastructure.
These facilities are intended to provide the operational space, support services and enabling infrastructure required to advance future stages of the hospital development. The phase has been designed to integrate with subsequent construction, helping create a cohesive and future-ready healthcare campus.
EllisDon is working alongside Windsor Regional Hospital, government partners, project teams and community stakeholders on the development.
Randy Reymer, senior vice president and London area manager at EllisDon, said the groundbreaking reflects years of planning and collaboration and represents an important investment in the region's healthcare future.
The Phase 1 work is more than an initial construction package; it establishes critical infrastructure needed for the hospital's future development. By delivering education, administration, parking and site infrastructure early, the project team can create the framework needed to support later phases of the healthcare campus.
The project also strengthens EllisDon's involvement in Windsor-Essex, where the company has developed longstanding relationships through previous work in the region.
The groundbreaking marks the start of a major healthcare infrastructure investment for Windsor-Essex. The Phase 1 facilities will provide essential support infrastructure for future hospital development while helping establish a modern, integrated healthcare campus designed to serve the region's long-term needs.
