More than 300 employees and family members from Encore Electric participated in the company’s ninth annual Encore Gives! Day on September 12, supporting nonprofit organizations across four Western states.
The company partnered with 15 organizations in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Utah for projects ranging from electrical improvements and landscaping to food distribution, donation sorting and environmental cleanup. The event provided construction professionals and their families with opportunities to contribute skills and volunteer time to organizations serving local communities.
Encore Electric teams worked with organizations including the Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless, The Action Center in Lakewood, Colorado, Care & Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs and Saint James Episcopal Food Bank in Midvale, Utah.
At the Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless, volunteers completed electrical projects, landscaping and food service activities. At Saint James Episcopal Food Bank, 24 employees and family members participated, helping prepare food distributions and process 11 pallets of food weighing nearly 12,000 pounds.
Other teams supported youth programs, animal rescue, outdoor recreation and community organizations. Volunteers at Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies worked on painting, cleaning, landscaping, organization and animal care.
The Eagle River Coalition cleanup brought 35 participants to the Colorado mountains, where volunteers collected 36 bags of trash along approximately 10 miles of riverbank. The activity also connected with Encore Electric’s environmental efforts through its Green Team.
Encore Gives! Day also included direct financial support for participating organizations. Encore Electric donated $2,000 to each of the 15 nonprofit partners, providing additional resources for their ongoing programs.
The company’s community engagement program brought together employees from different business units and locations while involving family members in volunteer activities. The participating organizations represented a range of community needs, including food assistance, homelessness services, youth development, environmental stewardship, animal rescue and outdoor programs.
For construction and electrical contractors, employee volunteer programs can provide an avenue for skilled tradespeople to contribute directly to communities where projects and operations are located. Encore Electric’s 2026 event combined technical assistance with general volunteer work, allowing teams to support nonprofits according to their individual needs.
Community engagement initiatives can strengthen connections between construction employers, their employees and the communities they serve. Encore Gives! Day demonstrates how a specialty contractor can use both workforce participation and financial contributions to support nonprofit organizations across multiple operating markets.
The 2026 event also highlights the role of employee-led volunteering in construction industry workforce culture, with more than 300 participants contributing time and skills during a single companywide initiative.
