Ezee Fiber Resumes High-Speed Fiber Build in Albuquerque After Agreement with City

HOUSTON, July 14, 2025 — Houston-based fiber broadband provider Ezee Fiber has resumed construction on its next-generation high-speed fiber network in Albuquerque, New Mexico, following the resolution of a stop work order that had paused installation since May 9.

Under the terms of a new agreement with the City of Albuquerque, Ezee Fiber will strengthen its community outreach and oversight of on-the-ground contractors performing directional drilling — the method used to install fiber lines underground with minimal surface disruption.

The company’s expanded commitments include more frequent updates to city administrators on resident notifications, improved response to questions or potential damage concerns, and increased oversight of subcontractors. Ezee Fiber will also participate in a new city-led task force, collaborating with other fiber providers to improve communication protocols and ensure that construction aligns with all city and state permitting requirements.

"We are very grateful to have reached this agreement with city officials which allows us to return to work on a project that will take years to complete," said Carlos Rosas, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Ezee Fiber’s Southwest Region. "We also want to hear from any resident if they have questions or concerns about construction or restoration work. Our goal is to open lines of communication to keep everyone informed."

A Bigger Investment in New Mexico

Ezee Fiber’s renewed build in Albuquerque is part of a larger push to expand its ultra-fast fiber network across New Mexico. Just one year ago, the company unveiled a $250 million investment to grow its footprint in the state — including its acquisition of Conterra Networks’ local fiber assets. Now, Ezee Fiber says it will increase that investment to $300 million to deliver more reliable, multi-gig fiber service to homes, businesses, and public institutions.

The Albuquerque build is a key milestone in Ezee Fiber’s mission to boost broadband connectivity in underserved areas and meet the surging demand for gigabit-plus speeds. The company operates a carrier-grade network that also serves communities in Texas and Washington.

Resident Engagement & Local Support

As work resumes, Ezee Fiber is encouraging residents and businesses to reach out with any questions and to check service availability in their area. The company emphasizes that its local field teams live and work in the same communities where they build and maintain networks, aiming for a transparent, responsive approach.

"We want to deliver not only cutting-edge fiber technology, but also trust and open communication with every community we serve," Rosas added.

Residents can visit ezeefiber.com to learn more about the expansion, check address availability, and pre-register for service to be among the first to receive Ezee Fiber internet.
