Construction companies continue investing in workforce development beyond craft and engineering roles by introducing students to the legal and business functions that support infrastructure delivery. FlatironDragados is hosting an Emory University School of Law student as part of its summer legal internship program in Atlanta.
The internship provides practical experience in legal research, construction contracts, corporate governance, project pursuits and regulatory matters related to infrastructure projects.
During the program, the law student works alongside FlatironDragados' in-house legal team, gaining exposure to the legal processes that support project execution and corporate operations.
Assignments include reviewing contractual documentation, conducting legal research and assisting with corporate legal management activities.
The internship introduces law students to construction and infrastructure as a potential career path while providing experience with transactional legal work involving contracts, negotiations and business operations.
FlatironDragados said the program allows participants to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while gaining familiarity with legal issues unique to large-scale infrastructure projects.
