The appointment was announced Jan. 28 and positions Weisheimer to guide the company’s growth through its Geographic Markets division while reinforcing Fortis’ presence in core sectors such as data centers, healthcare and education.

Leadership Focused on Intentional National Growth

Weisheimer brings more than 20 years of construction experience to the role. Before joining Fortis, she held senior positions at major West Coast builders including DPR Construction, Webcor Builders and Lease Crutcher Lewis. Most recently, she served as DPR’s national EHS integrations and operations leader.

In an email to Construction Dive, Weisheimer emphasized the company’s deliberate approach to expansion.

“Over the past five plus years [Fortis has] been growing, but more importantly growing with intention. As we look to expand into new regions and deepen our partnerships across the country, we have an opportunity to amplify the impact our teams are already making,” Weisheimer said.

Fortis leadership said her background in operations, safety and large-scale program delivery made her a natural fit to lead the firm through its next phase. The company has steadily broadened its geographic footprint, opening a Draper, Utah, office in 2024 and maintaining an international hub in Singapore.

Strong Market Position Backed by Data Center Work

Fortis generated $2.2 billion in revenue in 2024, earning the company No. 57 on Engineering News-Record’s 2025 list of the Top 400 U.S. contractors. International work accounted for $516 million of that total, placing the firm No. 13 among contractors working abroad.

The builder has carved out a significant role in mission-critical construction. Recent projects include the PDX01 data center in Forest Grove, Oregon, and a major Meta data center campus in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The company has also delivered prominent civic and educational facilities, such as the Oregon Zoo Education Center in Portland.

Industry observers note that Fortis’ focus on technology-driven markets has helped insulate the firm from broader economic swings. Demand for data centers in particular continues to surge as artificial intelligence and cloud computing investments accelerate nationwide.

With Weisheimer at the helm, Fortis aims to convert that momentum into deeper national relationships and more diversified project delivery. Company officials said her appointment signals a commitment to disciplined, long-term growth rather than rapid expansion for its own sake.
