Recognition of construction industry executives continues to highlight the role of financial leadership in supporting company growth and project delivery. GCON Chief Financial Officer Lisa Murphy has been named one of Arizona's Most Influential Women for 2026, acknowledging her contributions to the company's financial management and organizational development.
Murphy was selected from a field of more than 2,200 candidates through a review process conducted by the editorial board of Az Business magazine and a panel of previous award recipients. The 2026 honorees are scheduled to be recognized during an awards ceremony in Phoenix on Aug. 20.
Murphy joined GCON in 2019 after holding leadership positions in both the public and nonprofit sectors. Her previous experience includes roles with Arizona's Office of the Auditor General, the City of Scottsdale, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, where she served in finance and executive leadership positions.
She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Arizona, a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University, and is a certified public accountant licensed in Arizona.
As chief financial officer, Murphy oversees GCON's financial operations and helps guide the contractor's long-term business strategy. Her responsibilities include strengthening the company's financial performance while supporting its continued expansion as a national construction contractor.
The recognition reflects leadership contributions that extend beyond financial management, including organizational development and strategic planning that support the company's growth initiatives.
Executive leadership plays a significant role in the construction industry's ability to manage financial risk, invest in growth, and deliver increasingly complex projects. Recognition of finance executives highlights the importance of strong fiscal management and strategic leadership as contractors expand operations and navigate evolving market conditions.
