Gilbane promotes exec to Mid-Atlantic region lead

Gilbane Building Co. named current executive Ted Holt as division leader of its Mid-Atlantic offices, the contractor announced on April 2. Holt will oversee Gilbane’s operations across four offices in Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Newark, New Jersey.

Holt joined the Providence, Rhode Island-based firm in 2012 as vice president and business unit leader for its Maryland office, per the release. In 2021, he was promoted to senior vice president, and by 2023 began overseeing the Baltimore and Washington offices.

Holt led the firm’s growth in the region and helmed the its move to its current office in downtown Baltimore, according to the release. While there, he tripled the office’s revenue, and helped Gilbane become the second-largest builder in the Baltimore region. Notable projects that Holt has worked on include:

Choquette III, regional president of Gilbane’s Mid-Atlantic division. “We are excited to scale Ted’s leadership across the entire Mid-Atlantic footprint.”

Prior to joining the builder, Holt spent nearly 20 years as director of building construction at Rockville, Maryland-based Davis Construction, per his LinkedIn. He has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in the same field from Arizona State University.
