Previously known as Horizon Telecom, Glo Fiber underwent a rebranding in 2023 following its acquisition by Shentel in 2024. The company has since been focused on expanding its fiber-to-the-home infrastructure across the region.

Advancing Connectivity in Lancaster

Currently, over 4,000 homes and businesses in Lancaster have already been connected to Glo Fiber's high-speed network. The company has announced that the full network expansion is expected to be completed by the second half of 2025.

“As we continue to grow throughout Ohio, we look forward to bringing our award-winning fiber service to even more residents and businesses,” said Chris Kyle, VP of industry affairs at Shentel, in the company’s release.

“We are excited to continue our fiber-to-the-home expansion in Lancaster,” Kyle added.

Local Support and Community Impact

The expansion has been welcomed by Lancaster Mayor Don McDaniel, who emphasized the benefits of increased broadband access for residents and businesses.

“We welcome this new investment from a company that is already part of Lancaster,” said McDaniel.

He further noted that Glo Fiber “will be delivering to our residents and businesses better options for high-quality internet.”

Glo Fiber’s Growing Footprint

Glo Fiber’s services extend beyond Ohio, with coverage also available in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. The company remains committed to expanding its footprint and ensuring more communities have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
