Green Leaf Construction Lands 738K-SF F.W. Webb Distribution Facility in Pennsylvania

LEOMINSTER, Mass. — Green Leaf Construction has secured a major design-build contract to construct a large-scale distribution facility for F.W. Webb Company in Hazleton, marking a significant expansion of the client’s logistics network in the mid-Atlantic region.

Construction is already underway on the 738,000-square-foot central distribution hub, which will serve as a key node in F.W. Webb’s supply chain operations. The project represents the second major distribution facility Green Leaf has delivered for the company, reinforcing a long-standing partnership between the contractor and the distributor.

“The project came about as a result of our long-standing relationship and strong reputation with a repeat customer, who was looking to expand their logistics operations in the Pennsylvania area,” said Green Leaf Construction Project Executive Mike Vogel. “This project is especially meaningful for us — not just because of its scale, but because it represents new territory for both Green Leaf and our customer. It’s a true flagship project for an important partner.”

Large-Scale Logistics Hub Takes Shape

Once complete, the facility will feature high-bay storage, a robotic pick module and extensive truck loading infrastructure designed to support high-volume distribution. The building will also utilize insulated metal panel construction to enhance durability and operational efficiency.

The project site presented early challenges due to difficult subsurface conditions. According to the contractor, more than one million cubic yards of granite required blasting during initial site preparation. Much of that material has been crushed and reused on-site for grading, stabilization and infrastructure work, helping to streamline construction and reduce waste.

Among the facility’s key infrastructure components will be a 289,000-gallon fire protection water storage tower, supporting advanced fire suppression systems throughout the building. Additional features include 70 loading dock doors, dedicated truck wash facilities and expansive warehouse space optimized for storage and distribution.

Construction Progress and Safety Recognition

The project is progressing through 2026, with foundation work scheduled to begin soon and structural steel installation to follow. The facility is expected to open in spring 2027, significantly enhancing F.W. Webb’s distribution capabilities across the region.

In addition to the project milestone, Green Leaf Construction recently received national recognition for its safety performance. The company earned a National Health and Safety Merit Award from Associated Builders and Contractors during its 36th annual Excellence in Construction Awards.

“This award is a testament to all of the team members at Green Leaf. Without their knowledge, expertise and ongoing commitment to doing things right while sending everyone home safe at the end of the day, we would not have achieved this recognition,” said Green Leaf Construction President Andy McBeth.

Thomas Murphy, 2026 chair of the ABC National Board of Directors, praised the company’s safety culture. “The safety record of Green Leaf speaks for itself, setting the standard for a culture of care for its people,” he said. “Safety values remain consistent for Green Leaf, which are nearly seven times safer than the industry average. They are employers of choice because they refuse to compromise on health and safety for every single employee.”

The project underscores continued growth in industrial construction, particularly in large-scale logistics and distribution facilities, as companies invest in infrastructure to meet rising demand and streamline supply chains.
