Leadership experience spanning construction operations and financial management is increasingly relevant to contractors overseeing project performance, risk and business growth. Holt Construction has appointed Adam Canosa as president, placing an executive with experience in both contracting operations and construction advisory services in the company's top leadership role.

Executive Experience Spans Contracting and Advisory Work

Canosa brings nearly two decades of professional experience across construction operations, accounting, financial management and strategic planning. Before joining Holt Construction, he served as a principal and construction advisory practice leader at Grassi, working with contractors on profitability, cash flow, project oversight, risk management, bonding and capital planning.

Earlier in his career, Canosa led a general contracting company, with responsibilities covering operational management, financial performance, customer relationships and long-term business strategy. His experience included strengthening internal processes, expanding revenue opportunities and improving project oversight during periods of financial and operational complexity.

The combination of advisory and direct operating experience provides background in the financial and execution challenges faced by construction businesses.

Industry Involvement and Leadership Responsibilities

Canosa has contributed to construction industry guidance and professional development. He served as a technical reviewer for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' guide for construction contractors and has spoken at industry events organised by groups including the Construction Financial Management Association and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers.

He previously served on the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut Young Contractors Council board and currently serves on the Town of North Branford Permanent Projects Building Committee.

At Holt Construction, Canosa will work with leadership and employees across the organisation, focusing on operational performance, workforce support and relationships with clients and trade partners.

Financial and Operational Management in Construction

Contractors operate in an environment where cash flow, bonding capacity, project controls and risk management can directly affect their ability to deliver work and pursue new opportunities. Leadership experience across these areas is relevant to companies managing complex project portfolios and long-term client relationships.

Canosa's appointment brings together experience in construction company operations and financial advisory work. For construction owners and industry stakeholders, the leadership change highlights the importance of aligning financial oversight with project execution and business planning.
