Testing and verification services are becoming increasingly important to building owners and contractors managing HVAC performance, indoor environmental conditions and commissioning requirements. Integra Testing Services is expanding its regional capabilities through the acquisition of Precision Balancing, a Pottstown, Pennsylvania-based provider of testing, adjusting and balancing services.
Precision Balancing provides testing, adjusting and balancing, or TAB, services for building owners, engineers and contractors across southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and surrounding markets.
The company specializes in verifying and optimizing HVAC system performance, an important part of commissioning and building turnover. Its continued operation from Pottstown gives Integra an established location and workforce in a market where commercial facilities require increasingly detailed testing and verification.
Brian Rekos, who previously served as Precision Balancing's president and owner, will continue leading the business as district manager. The existing team will remain in place following the transaction.
The acquisition adds Precision Balancing to Integra's growing Mid-Atlantic and Northeast operations. Terry Ackerman, Integra's regional director for the East, will provide oversight of the Pottstown office.
Integra provides TAB and related facility testing services for commercial HVAC systems. Its service portfolio also includes cleanroom certification, fume hood testing, pharmacy compliance testing, duct leakage testing, air barrier testing and commissioning.
The company has nearly 700 professionals and 32 offices across the United States, Mexico, Guam and Canada.
For construction owners, engineers and contractors, independent testing and verification can help identify HVAC performance issues before facilities enter full operation. Expanding local TAB capacity can also support commissioning schedules and coordination between mechanical contractors, design teams and building owners.
Integra's acquisition gives the company a larger regional operating base while retaining Precision Balancing's existing workforce and customer relationships. The transaction also reflects continued consolidation among specialized construction and facility-services providers seeking broader geographic coverage and technical capabilities.
