Jacobs Wins $80M U.S. Navy Environmental Compliance Contract

Jacobs, a global provider of infrastructure and environmental solutions, has been awarded an $80 million contract by the U.S. Navy to provide comprehensive multimedia environmental compliance engineering support. This single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, issued by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic, is part of Jacobs' growing portfolio in federal infrastructure projects, further strengthening its partnership with the Department of Defense. The focus of the contract is on installations globally, with an emphasis on the eastern United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The environmental services that Jacobs will provide under this contract are diverse and essential for the Navy’s operations. Jacobs will offer support in critical areas such as petroleum storage tank compliance, oil spill preparedness, air quality regulation, drinking water and wastewater management, and material and waste handling. These services are vital for ensuring that Navy facilities comply with strict environmental regulations while also contributing to the protection of ecosystems in regions where the Navy operates.
Susannah Kerr, Executive Vice President at Jacobs, highlighted the significance of the contract, saying, “This multimedia contract renewal continues Jacobs’ 40-plus years of support to NAVFAC and provides another opportunity to advance the environmental compliance of the U.S. Navy, one of the world’s largest maritime operations. Supporting NAVFAC with environmental stewardship is integral to enabling the U.S. Navy to focus on their core mission of maintaining freedom of the seas.”
Jacobs has an established relationship with NAVFAC, having provided a wide range of services to the U.S. Navy over the years. The company's expertise in wastewater treatment, environmental remediation, and regulatory compliance is crucial in ensuring that Navy operations meet environmental standards. This contract marks another chapter in Jacobs' longstanding history of delivering solutions that protect the environment while supporting the operational goals of the Navy.
The award comes at a time when Jacobs is expanding its federal infrastructure work. Recently, the company secured a $249 million architecture and engineering services contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This contract involves providing support for environmental projects across various U.S. regions, including the Northwestern U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, and other outlying areas.
Jacobs' work on these contracts aligns with its broader commitment to advancing environmental stewardship in the federal sector. By supporting critical environmental compliance initiatives, Jacobs helps ensure that the U.S. Navy and other defense agencies can operate efficiently and sustainably, minimizing their impact on the environment while maintaining national security. With decades of experience and a proven track record of success, Jacobs remains a trusted partner in the federal infrastructure and environmental services space.
