LANTANA, Fla.,– JFB Construction Holdings (Nasdaq: JFB) has been awarded a major design-build contract for a new Prison Island indoor adventure center in Indianapolis, Indiana. The project is set to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will add to the rapidly expanding U.S. footprint of the international adventure brand.
The 14,000-square-foot facility will offer a unique, escape-room style experience where players work together to solve challenges and earn points under time pressure. With over 98 locations across 20 countries, Prison Island is building its U.S. presence, currently operating only in Kansas City, Mo. and Houston, Tex.
“This contract is a design build of approx. 14,000 square feet of an indoor adventure center for Prison Island in Indianapolis Ind.,” said Joseph F. Basile, III, CEO of JFB Construction Holdings. “Currently there are only two U.S. locations: Kansas City, Mo. and Houston, Tex. Prison Island is planning to rapidly grow its presence in the U.S. and has chosen JFB Construction to assist in developing the franchise.”
Basile emphasized the strategic importance of the deal for the company’s commercial contracting division. “The Prison Island project is another important contract win for our commercial contracting segment of JFB, as we want to continue growing relationships and to be a preferred contractor and partner for Prison Island as the company makes a push for multiple locations throughout the U.S.
“We value the relationship with Prison Island and their confidence in JFB. This particular project again demonstrates our flexibility in being able to meet the varying needs of multiple sectors and client types. We have extensive experience in design build projects, and we believe that our attention to detail and creativity will be evident in the completed location in Indianapolis, Ind. We are currently in the design phase and we plan to commence construction in the fourth quarter of 2025,” Basile concluded.
Prison Island is designed for visitors aged 9 to 99 and is centered on collaboration, problem-solving, and strategy. Each location features between 20 and 48 “cells” where participants take on a range of physical and mental challenges. Unlike traditional escape rooms, the emphasis is on teamwork and replayability, making it a destination for families, friends, and corporate team-building events.
JFB Construction has decades of experience in commercial and residential construction, including multifamily developments, shopping centers, national franchises, and over two million square feet of retail and commercial spaces nationwide. The company operates in 36 states and is known for delivering projects through long-term client relationships, many of which stem from repeat business and referrals.
The Indianapolis Prison Island project underscores JFB’s growing role in experiential entertainment construction—a niche that blends hospitality, retail, and recreation. With more U.S. locations anticipated, JFB expects its partnership with Prison Island to expand as the brand accelerates growth.
