County agencies continue investing in modern public works facilities to improve fleet maintenance capabilities and support transportation infrastructure operations. Kraus-Anderson has completed a $5.8 million expansion of the St. Croix County Highway Department-Hudson Shop, providing additional maintenance capacity for the county's roadway network.
Kraus-Anderson delivered the 27,000-square-foot expansion at the St. Croix County Highway Department's Hudson Shop, located at 674 East U.S. Highway 12 in Hudson, Wisconsin.
Designed by Cedar Corporation for St. Croix County, the project adds new administrative offices, maintenance shop space and a wash bay to the existing highway maintenance campus. Construction began in October 2025.
The expansion is intended to improve operational efficiency and increase the county's ability to maintain its vehicle fleet and roadway infrastructure.
The project extends the county's existing 20.6-acre maintenance campus and provides modern facilities to support highway maintenance activities serving the eastern portion of St. Croix County.
The upgraded maintenance complex is designed to enhance fleet servicing capacity while supporting long-term transportation operations and public works functions.
