ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.,— Landry/French Construction has officially opened a new office in downtown St. Petersburg, marking a significant step in its strategic expansion into the Southeast. The full-service commercial construction firm, long established throughout the Northeast, is positioning itself to meet rising demand across Florida and neighboring states.
To spearhead this regional growth, the company has appointed Scott Hutchison as Regional Executive Vice President for the Southeast. The move signals Landry/French’s commitment to building strong local leadership while expanding its operational capabilities in one of the country’s fastest-growing construction markets.
The new St. Petersburg office will serve as a regional hub supporting projects across healthcare, education, aviation, commercial, and industrial sectors. Company leaders say the expansion builds on a proven track record of delivering technically complex, high-quality construction projects.
“Expanding into the Southeast is a natural next step for our firm,” said Kevin French, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Landry/French Construction. “Scott brings deep regional knowledge, strong leadership, and a proven track record of building successful teams and client relationships. We’re excited to have him lead our efforts and establish a strong foundation in this market.”
Hutchison brings more than three decades of experience in the construction industry. Over his career, he has held leadership roles spanning Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Executive, Director of Construction, and Vice President. His background includes overseeing regional operations, client development initiatives, and large-scale project delivery throughout the Southeast.
In his new role, Hutchison will oversee regional strategy, business development, operational performance, and team development across Florida and surrounding markets.
Recent projects under Hutchison’s leadership include ground-up cancer treatment centers and medical office buildings across Florida, along with high-profile commercial developments such as a luxury retail flagship in Miami and a major event center in Tampa. These experiences align with Landry/French’s focus on complex healthcare and commercial construction.
“St. Petersburg is an exciting and meaningful location for Landry/French as we expand into the Southeast”, said Scott Hutchison. “Having been born and raised in St. Petersburg, it’s especially rewarding to continue building in the community while establishing a strong local team and delivering the high-quality projects the firm is known for.”
Hutchison holds a Business Management degree from Florida State University and maintains a Florida General Contractor’s License.
The firm has also strengthened its Florida operations with the addition of Daniel Iwano as Project Superintendent and Denise Young as Client Relations Manager. Together, the expanded team will focus on project execution excellence, client partnerships, and long-term market growth.

Landry/French’s Southeast expansion builds on its 2024 acquisition of Melbourne-based MH Williams Construction Group, a move that enhanced its regional capabilities and client portfolio.
The company continues to earn national recognition, including placement on the Engineering News-Record Top 400 Contractors list in 2025. It has also been recognized as a Top New England Contractor for six consecutive years.
Founded in 2010, Landry/French operates as a 100% employee-owned company, emphasizing collaboration, quality craftsmanship, and long-term client relationships. With its new St. Petersburg office, the firm aims to deepen its presence in Florida’s growing construction market while maintaining the standards that have defined its work in the Northeast.
