Financial management is a critical component of construction business operations, particularly for contractors managing cash flow, credit, technology investments and long-term planning. SMACNA is preparing a three-day Financial Boot Camp in Phoenix to provide members with practical training in these areas.
The program is scheduled for Oct. 5-7 at The Westin Phoenix Downtown.
The training will address financial statements, cash flow, credit and strategic planning. Participants will work through exercises and case studies designed to apply financial concepts to business decisions.
The program is structured around interpreting financial information, navigating financial issues and analyzing data that can support company-level planning.
Topics are intended to help participants strengthen their understanding of financial performance and apply that information when evaluating business decisions.
The 2026 program also includes participation from Jay Snyder, CEO of Big Blue Innovations, and Mitch Blair, senior advisory leader at the organization.
Their sessions will focus on technology adoption, enterprise resource planning system selection and implementation, and approaches to evaluating technology investments.
The program will take place at The Westin Phoenix Downtown at 333 N. Central Ave. Registration closes Sept. 21.
Financial controls and technology decisions directly affect how specialty contractors manage resources, evaluate investments and plan for growth. Training that combines financial analysis with ERP and technology considerations can provide construction business leaders with tools for evaluating operational and financial decisions.
The Phoenix program gives SMACNA members an opportunity to address these areas through structured exercises and industry-focused case studies.
