Students Explore Multifamily Development and Construction Careers

Early exposure to construction projects and industry professionals can help develop future talent for the commercial building sector. March Associates Construction hosted students from the All Stars Project of New Jersey at The Wyldes, a Class A apartment community developed by March, for a site visit focused on construction and commercial real estate careers.

During the Oct. 13, 2026, announcement, the Wayne, New Jersey-based construction management company described how the visit introduced students to a completed multifamily property and the processes involved in delivering large-scale developments.

March team members discussed project planning, coordination and collaboration, while sharing professional experiences and career insights. The visit gave students an opportunity to ask questions about the industry and learn about roles across construction and real estate.

Workshops and Internships Extend the Partnership

The site visit forms part of March Associates Construction's ongoing relationship with the All Stars Project of New Jersey, which supports young people through experiential learning, professional development and relationship-building opportunities.

Earlier in 2026, March hosted two workshops at its offices. President Lou March Jr. and senior leadership team members discussed their career experiences, professional challenges and advice for young people preparing to enter the workforce.

March also sponsored two interns through the All Stars Development School for Youth, providing practical exposure to professional environments and opportunities to explore construction and real estate careers.

The combination of site visits, workshops and internships offers students different ways to learn about the industry, from observing completed developments to interacting with professionals and gaining workplace experience.

Building a Future Construction Workforce

March Associates Construction's outreach highlights how contractors can introduce younger generations to career opportunities beyond traditional perceptions of construction work. Exposure to project management, coordination and real estate development can help students understand the range of professional roles involved in delivering commercial and multifamily properties.

The initiative also reflects the role local construction businesses can play in workforce awareness through partnerships with community organizations. Although the announcement did not specify participation targets, future hiring commitments or measurable workforce outcomes, the activities provide students with direct access to industry knowledge and professional networks.

For construction owners and contractors, programs of this kind represent one approach to building relationships with potential future workers while strengthening connections with the communities where projects are delivered.
