Construction activity is moving through multiple stages across a portfolio of education, multifamily, mixed-use and retail developments in New Jersey and Connecticut. March Construction is reporting recent milestones ranging from the completion of a school facility to structural work on several residential projects and final-stage activity at a major shopping center.
The updates cover projects in Saddle River, Harrison, Darien, Elizabeth, Fair Lawn and Montgomery Township, reflecting a broad mix of building types and construction phases.
Saddle River Day School in Saddle River, New Jersey, has completed a 33,000-square-foot facility known as Dr. Kristen Walsh Hall of Science and Entrepreneurship.
The building includes 19 classrooms, four science laboratories and three specialty learning spaces. The school recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility, marking the transition from construction to operation.
The project adds specialized academic space focused on science and entrepreneurship within the private school campus.
Several residential developments are progressing through foundation, framing and building enclosure stages.
At Riverbend Block B2 in Harrison, drilling is underway for a 701,149-square-foot development near the Harrison PATH Station. The project is being developed by Advance Realty Investors and designed by MHS Architecture. Plans call for a building ranging from seven to 11 stories, with 524 apartments and 12,100 square feet of retail space.
In Darien, Connecticut, framing is advancing at Thorndal Circle while sitework and foundation activities continue on other buildings. High Street Residential's development will contain 175 apartments distributed across five buildings on an 11-acre site south of downtown Darien.
Construction is also progressing on Phases 2 and 3 of ECCO Apartments in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The 258-unit development by MAS Development and LeCesse Development is part of the larger Vintage City project. The buildings will include four stories of apartments above structured parking, along with ground-floor retail and an indoor pool.
At Plaza Greene in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, wall construction is underway as sitework continues. The Danbro Properties and Sterling Properties development will include 145 age-restricted apartments, underground parking and ground-floor retail space occupied by Sprouts Farmers Market. The project is located near Radburn Train Station.
Montgomery Promenade in Montgomery Township, New Jersey, is nearing completion. SJC Ventures is developing the 292,700-square-foot shopping and entertainment center along Route 206.
The development includes retail and dining uses anchored by Whole Foods, a one-acre outdoor community gathering area and 34 single-family homes.
With construction approaching completion, the project represents the latest stage in March Construction's current portfolio of commercial and residential work across the region.
The six updates demonstrate the range of construction activity currently moving through the Northeast, from specialized education facilities and large multifamily developments to mixed-use and retail projects. The different project stages also highlight the coordination required across foundation work, structural framing, building enclosure, interior construction and final completion.
