The Mechanical Contractors Association of America is using Safe & Sound Week 2026 to encourage contractors to strengthen workplace safety programs and involve employees in identifying and addressing jobsite hazards.
As part of the effort, MCAA is highlighting five videos produced through the Safety Alliance, a collaboration involving MCAA, TAUC, SMACNA and NECA. The materials are intended to support safety meetings and workforce discussions focused on hazard recognition and safe work practices.
OSHA’s national Safe & Sound Week runs from Aug. 10 through Aug. 16 and encourages employers to recognize workplace safety and health programs while identifying opportunities to improve them. OSHA emphasizes management leadership, worker participation and finding and fixing hazards as core elements of effective programs.
Beyond the video series, MCAA is directing members to its safety, health and mental health resource library, which contains more than 700 materials. The resources include toolbox talks, safety alerts, training materials and mental health information.
The materials can be used for activities such as safety stand-downs, toolbox talks and employee training, allowing contractors to continue safety initiatives beyond the annual Safe & Sound Week observance.
For construction contractors, safety programs provide a structured way to identify workplace hazards and involve workers in preventing incidents. Safe & Sound Week gives contractors an additional opportunity to review existing safety practices and reinforce worker participation. OSHA notes that proactive safety and health programs can help employers identify and manage hazards before they result in injuries or illnesses.
