McCrory Names Nichole Kopenhaver Senior Project Manager

McCrory Construction, South Carolina’s oldest general contractor, has promoted Nichole Kopenhaver, CIT, CBT, CIS, to Senior Project Manager. With nearly three decades of construction industry experience—including the past ten years with McCrory—Kopenhaver has established herself as both a respected builder and a dedicated leader.

“Nichole has grown tremendously over the past several years, both as a builder and as a leader,” said Allen Bridgers, President of McCrory Construction. “She has consistently demonstrated the ability to take on challenging projects, inspire those around her, and represent McCrory with excellence in the community. We are proud to see her step into the role of Senior Project Manager.”
Kopenhaver has recently distinguished herself by managing several of McCrory’s most complex housing renovation projects, where she has earned praise for her ability to navigate difficult challenges with professionalism and precision. Her leadership style—focused on collaboration, problem-solving, and mentorship—has made her a trusted figure within McCrory and the wider construction industry.
Her impact extends far beyond project sites. Kopenhaver has received multiple honors from the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), including the National Executive Spotlight Award, South Atlantic Region Member of the Year (two consecutive years), Top Recruiter, and Chapter Member of the Year. She also served as President of NAWIC Columbia Chapter #113 and chaired its Career Awareness Committee, demonstrating her dedication to advancing women in construction. In 2021, she was named a GroundBreaker by GroundBreak Carolinas, a recognition of her efforts to strengthen the construction community across the Carolinas.

Kopenhaver is also known for her passion for education and workforce development. She regularly engages with students at schools, job fairs, and mentorship programs to showcase opportunities in the trades. She founded the Construction Kids Discovery & Awareness Day, a hands-on community event in Columbia introducing young learners to construction careers. Additionally, she has partnered with the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA), speaking at Building Your Future events, supporting Richland School District Two’s GEAR UP program, and mentoring students exploring STEM pathways.
“For over a century, McCrory Construction has been synonymous with quality, reliability, and innovation across South Carolina’s built environment. With Nichole’s promotion, the company continues its tradition of investing in the success of its people while building on its legacy of excellence,” Bridgers added.
Founded in 1918 and headquartered in Columbia with a second office in Greenville, McCrory Construction is now in its fifth generation of private ownership. Licensed in 13 states across the Southeast, the company has completed more than 3,000 projects spanning retail, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and multi-family construction. McCrory has been recognized nationally as an ABC Top Performer and is consistently ranked among the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.
Kopenhaver’s promotion reflects McCrory’s commitment to nurturing talent and advancing leadership from within—a hallmark of its century-long reputation for excellence in the construction industry.
