McGough has expanded its industrial project development leadership with the promotion of Ben Juhnke, PE, to director of project development, Industrial. The move strengthens the contractor’s technical capabilities during the early stages of complex industrial projects and expands its national focus on central utility and district energy work.
Juhnke previously served as a preconstruction manager with McGough’s industrial team. In his new position, he will lead the company’s central utility and district energy projects across the country while supporting additional industrial markets, including industrial process work.
Juhnke brings 13 years of industry experience to the position. His responsibilities will span several stages of project development, including early planning, utility studies, engineering development, technical procurement and construction execution.
He will also support startup and commissioning activities, creating continuity between early project decisions and the work required to bring industrial facilities into operation.
McGough’s industrial practice works on complex facilities that require significant utility and infrastructure systems, including manufacturing, agricultural processing, renewable fuels and other industrial applications.
Central utility and district energy systems can play a critical role in industrial facility performance, requiring coordination between engineering, equipment, infrastructure and construction teams.
Juhnke’s previous experience within McGough gives him direct familiarity with the company’s preconstruction and project delivery capabilities. That experience is expected to support coordination between client objectives, technical development and construction execution.
McGough maintains industrial construction capabilities across areas such as greenfield development, plant expansions, shutdowns and turnarounds, preconstruction services and startup support. The company also works with clients on facilities requiring complex machinery, power and water infrastructure, equipment integration and specialized process systems.
