Construction industry partners and subcontractors gathered in Denver to support a regional healthcare nonprofit during Mortenson’s annual fundraising golf tournament, an event that continues to draw broad participation from the construction and development community.
Mortenson’s Denver office reported that the 2026 tournament generated $150,000 for Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation, the organization selected as the contractor’s Community Impact Partner for the year.
Mortenson’s Denver operations use an annual partnership model focused on charitable giving and volunteer engagement with a single nonprofit organization.
Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation supports the mission of Children’s Hospital Colorado, a nonprofit pediatric healthcare provider serving Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Foundation funding supports pediatric care programs, medical research, education initiatives, advocacy programs and family support services.
According to Mortenson, tournament proceeds will help expand access to pediatric healthcare resources and related support programs across the region.
The event attracted more than 200 golfers representing 50 teams from across the construction industry and associated business sectors.
Mortenson reported that employees and summer interns assisted with tournament logistics, participant registration and on-course activities during the event.
The fundraiser also received support from 50 sponsoring organizations. Sturgeon Electric, ESCO Construction and Montgomery Electric were identified among the primary contributors supporting the tournament.
Corporate-supported charitable initiatives remain a common component of community engagement strategies among major contractors and construction firms, particularly in regional markets where companies maintain long-term operational footprints and workforce presence.
Construction companies across the United States continue expanding workforce volunteer programs and philanthropic partnerships as part of broader community investment initiatives.
For contractors, developers and industry suppliers, these programs can strengthen relationships with regional institutions, healthcare organizations and local stakeholders while supporting workforce engagement activities for employees and interns.
Mortenson has operated in the Denver market for more than four decades and maintains construction, development and engineering operations across commercial, institutional and energy sectors.
