The construction industry's network of trade partners and clients continues to provide a platform for workforce and community initiatives beyond project delivery. Mortenson's 20th Annual T-Bone Memorial Sporting Clay Shoot generated $86,000 for American Military Family, bringing the event's cumulative fundraising total above $600,000.

Fundraising Event Draws Construction Industry Support

The Denver-area event attracted more than 230 participants, including Mortenson employees, trade partners, clients and other community supporters. Registration fees, sponsorship contributions and raffle proceeds contributed to the fundraising total.

American Military Family is a nonprofit organization that provides resources and services for veterans, first responders and their families. The proceeds from the event will support the organization's ongoing programs.

A total of 50 firms participated as sponsors or tournament participants. WillScot and Eco Bridge Service were among the event's leading contributors.

Two Decades of Community Giving

The 2026 tournament marked the 20th year of the T-Bone Memorial event, one of Mortenson's longstanding charitable initiatives. The fundraiser has now generated more than $600,000 over its two-decade history.

The event provides a recurring opportunity for construction companies and their industry partners to direct sponsorship and participation dollars toward a nonprofit serving military and first-responder communities.

Why It Matters

For construction companies, established charitable programs can create sustained engagement with trade partners, clients and local communities. Mortenson's fundraiser demonstrates how an industry-based network can support nonprofit organizations through recurring events and collective contributions.

The event's 20-year history and more than $600,000 in cumulative fundraising also show the scale that recurring industry-supported initiatives can achieve when participation extends across contractors, suppliers, clients and community stakeholders.
