Wohlsen Construction is partnering on the development of Vista Point at Fairview, a major senior living expansion in Groton, Connecticut, designed to meet growing demand for modern, resident-focused communities.
The more than $304 million project will expand Fairview’s waterfront campus with new independent and assisted living residences, along with amenities focused on wellness, recreation, arts and social connection.
Vista Point will add 193 independent living residences and 72 assisted living residences to Fairview’s campus. Once complete, the expansion is expected to bring Fairview’s resident population to nearly 600.
The project is being developed on approximately 20 acres of Fairview’s waterfront property and will strengthen the campus’ continuum of senior living and care options.
The expansion will introduce a range of amenities intended to support active and connected lifestyles. Planned features include:
The development reflects changing expectations among senior living residents, who increasingly seek communities that combine housing with opportunities for wellness, lifelong learning and social engagement.
Market interest has been significant ahead of completion. 136 of the 193 planned independent living residences have already been reserved, indicating strong demand for the new community.
Vista Point is expected to welcome residents in early 2028.
The expansion represents a major investment in Fairview’s future as Connecticut continues to experience demand for senior living communities and services.
The project also highlights the broader shift toward senior living developments that combine residential options with amenities and access to future care. By expanding its waterfront campus, Fairview aims to provide residents with a community designed to support changing needs throughout later stages of life.
