New Year Savings Target Pole Barn Upgrades

As the new year begins, property owners are often focused on personal resolutions, but FBi Buildings is encouraging landowners to take a fresh look at aging post-frame buildings in 2026.

Many older pole barns show visible wear, including faded metal siding, sticking doors, and layouts that no longer meet modern operational needs. However, replacing a structure entirely is not always necessary. According to FBi Buildings, many aging post-frame buildings still have solid structural foundations that can be upgraded to meet today’s standards.

“Winter is one of the best times to evaluate your pole barn,” said Ben Streitmatter, repairs and renovations regional sales manager at FBi Buildings. “When outdoor work slows down, you can take a step back and decide whether your current structure is working for you—or holding you back.”

The company says a common misconception among property owners is that once a pole barn begins to show its age, demolition and replacement are the only options. In many cases, existing structures can be rehabilitated through targeted repairs and renovations that extend their useful life while improving functionality.

Upgrades can range from replacing rotted support columns and repairing leaking ridge caps to reconfiguring interior layouts to better serve current agricultural, commercial, or residential uses. These improvements not only protect long-term investments but also help ensure buildings are ready for seasonal demands.

To help property owners act on those goals, FBi Buildings is offering a New Year Special, providing up to 15% savings on pole barn repair and renovation projects through Feb. 28.

“Making improvements during the slower season ensures your post-frame building is ready by spring,” Streitmatter said.

FBi Buildings encourages owners not to postpone maintenance for another year, noting that proactive upgrades can prevent further deterioration while restoring pride in existing structures. Interested customers can request a free quote and upload photos of their current post-frame buildings to assess renovation options.

Founded in 1958, FBi Buildings is a Midwest-based post-frame construction company that has completed more than 20,000 projects, including farm shops, commercial buildings, residential structures, and horse barns. The company currently serves multiple counties across Michigan.
