New Youngsville Orthopedic Clinic Breaks Ground

YOUNGSVILLE, La. — Construction is officially underway on a new Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists (LOS) clinic in Youngsville, a project that city leaders say will deliver significant healthcare and economic benefits to one of Acadiana’s fastest-growing communities.

Ground was broken Wednesday on the state-of-the-art facility, which will provide orthopedic urgent care, physical and occupational therapy, and on-site specialist consultations. The clinic is expected to open in 2026 at 1934 Chemin Metairie Parkway, directly across from Sugar Mill Villas apartments — an area experiencing rapid residential and commercial development.

Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter celebrated the announcement in a Facebook post, calling the project a major win for the community by bringing “more care” and “more jobs.” The expansion supports the city’s ongoing push to provide more essential services locally rather than requiring residents to travel to neighboring cities.

LOS currently operates two orthopedic urgent care clinics in Lafayette and Scott, along with three rehabilitation clinics and a surgery center throughout the Acadiana region. Company leaders say the new Youngsville site marks the next step in improving access to specialized treatment across South Louisiana.

“We’re thrilled to continue growing alongside the Youngsville community by bringing comprehensive orthopedic care closer to home,” LOS said in a press release following the groundbreaking.

The facility will be equipped to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, including sprains, fractures, and joint issues such as shoulder, knee, and hip injuries. Patients will also be able to receive casting, bracing, splinting, and other non-surgical treatment options without needing a trip to the emergency room.

Growing Healthcare Hub

The project underscores Youngsville’s continued evolution into a regional healthcare hub. With a population that has more than doubled over the last two decades, residents have increasingly called for more accessible medical services close to home.

Economic officials expect the clinic to support construction jobs over the next year while creating permanent healthcare positions once operations begin. Local businesses, housing communities, and nearby schools are also likely to benefit from the increased activity in the area.

As demand for orthopedic services rises across Acadiana — driven by youth sports, an aging population, and workplace injuries — LOS leaders say expanding into Youngsville will give patients faster and more convenient care.

More details will be shared as construction progresses and the opening date approaches.
