The City of North Myrtle Beach said that construction on Fire Station 7 continues to move forward on schedule. The long-anticipated facility is being built to strengthen emergency response capabilities in one of the fastest-growing areas of the city.

Major Construction Milestones Reached

Project leaders reported that significant structural progress has already been achieved.
The foundation has been poured, the walls are in place, and crews are now working on the roof.

Once enclosed, interior trades will begin installing electrical systems, plumbing, and specialized equipment designed specifically for modern firefighting operations. City officials have previously noted that the station will include updated living quarters for personnel, expanded apparatus bays, and improved technology to support faster response times.

Improving Public Safety Across the North Strand

The addition of Fire Station 7 is part of a broader public safety initiative aimed at keeping pace with rapid residential and commercial growth throughout the North Myrtle Beach area. Emergency call volumes have steadily increased in recent years, prompting the need for additional resources and strategically placed facilities.

Local leaders say the new station will reduce response times to neighborhoods, resorts, and business corridors along the northern end of the Grand Strand. The location was selected after a comprehensive review of call data, traffic patterns, and projected development.

Officials remain confident that the timeline will hold as long as weather and supply chains do not create unexpected delays.

The project is expected to be done no later than December.

When completed, Fire Station 7 will join the city’s network of stations providing fire suppression, medical first response, rescue services, and community risk-reduction programs. Additional updates are expected later this year as interior construction gets underway and staffing plans are finalized.
