The Statesman will add 340 multifamily units to Gallatin, about 30 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. The development site is positioned near major transportation routes and employment centers in Sumner County.
The planned community will use a combination of three-story garden-style buildings and two-story buildings with private entrances. Apartment layouts will include one-, two- and three-bedroom options.
Planned residential features include granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, hardwood-style flooring, full-size washers and dryers, walk-in closets, smart-home technology and private outdoor spaces. Detached garages and an Amazon package hub are also planned.
The project will include a heated swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, pickleball court, courtyards and resident social spaces. Additional amenities are planned for recreation, work and outdoor activities, including billiards, shuffleboard, firepit and grilling areas, and a dog park with a pet spa.
The development is located near employers including Sumner Regional Medical Center, Amazon, Oracle, GAP and AllianceBernstein. Retail destinations in the surrounding area include Kroger and Publix.
Thompson Thrift is developing The Statesman as part of its broader multifamily development activity. The company said it has invested more than $7.3 billion in communities nationwide over the past four decades and operates across development, construction, leasing and management.
The project is expected to begin welcoming residents in November 2027, adding new multifamily housing capacity in the Gallatin market as development continues across the broader Nashville region.
The Statesman represents a planned 340-unit addition to the Gallatin multifamily market. For developers and construction stakeholders, the project highlights continued residential development in communities surrounding Nashville and the use of larger suburban sites for multifamily housing near employment and transportation corridors.
