The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has appointed an experienced learning and development professional to strengthen training programmes and workforce capabilities across the ready mixed concrete industry. Taylor Walsh will lead efforts to improve learning experiences, expand leadership development and align educational resources with the practical needs of industry employees.
Walsh joins NRMCA after more than a decade with Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, where her experience included instructional design, learning technology, programme strategy, content governance and organisational change support.
Her academic background includes a Master of Science in curriculum development and instructional technology and a graduate certificate in online learning and teaching from the University at Albany in New York. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
In her new position, Walsh will work with association members, industry specialists, faculty and staff to identify workforce training needs and develop learning solutions that address challenges encountered on the job.
Her responsibilities include creating new learning experiences, building on existing initiatives such as Developing Industry Leaders, expanding leadership and interpersonal development opportunities, and improving the technology and systems used to deliver NRMCA’s educational programmes.
The role also emphasises learner experience, consistency and scalable processes, allowing the association to support a wider range of professionals across the concrete sector.
Ready mixed concrete producers depend on skilled employees, effective leadership and consistent training to maintain operational performance and meet evolving industry requirements. Strengthening professional development programmes can help producers build employee capabilities, prepare future leaders and support workforce retention.
