The Construction Staking and GPS Technology Scholarship is designed for students earning a certificate in Construction Staking and GPS and reflects the company’s commitment to workforce development in the heavy civil construction sector.
“Oftedal Construction is establishing the Construction Staking and GPS Technology Scholarship to help support students who are preparing to enter the construction workforce,” said Matt Gagnon, Oftedal Construction GPS manager. “As construction technology continues to advance, there is a growing need for skilled workers who understand modern layout, staking, and GPS systems used in heavy civil construction,” he added.
The program will award three $500 scholarships during the spring semester. Eligible applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours, major in construction staking and GPS studies, and be enrolled in CNTK 2530, Construction Staking and GPS.
Although financial need is not a requirement, applicants must submit a 150- to 300-word essay explaining their interest in taking CNTK 2530, their intended career path, and how the scholarship would support their educational goals. Applicants may also include a letter of reference from an instructor or employer as part of the application process.
“This scholarship is intended to reduce barriers for students enrolling in the CNTK 2530 Construction Staking and GPS Technology class and to encourage more individuals to pursue careers in construction, surveying, and related fields,” said Gagnon.
Oftedal Construction said the scholarship aligns with its broader efforts to strengthen the construction workforce by investing in practical, field-ready skills and supporting hands-on technical education.
Casper College officials noted that students can apply for this scholarship and other available financial aid opportunities through the college’s streamlined scholarship application process.
