Leadership Transition

Prime Electric has appointed Oliver Whitehead as president, placing him in charge of the company's day-to-day operations as part of a planned executive leadership transition.

Whitehead joined Prime Electric 13 years ago and most recently served as chief operating officer for the Pacific Northwest region. During his tenure, he has supported operational performance, regional growth and the development of teams across the business.

In his new role, Whitehead will work with regional leadership to execute the company's operating strategy while overseeing daily business activities.

Expansion Drives Organizational Changes

The appointment comes after a period of significant growth for Prime Electric. Over the past six years, the company has expanded to nearly four times its previous size through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Prime Electric now operates offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and holds licenses to perform electrical contracting work in 36 states.

As part of the leadership transition, Bob Ledford will remain chief executive officer, focusing on corporate strategy, long-term growth initiatives, acquisitions, integration activities and partner relationships.

Industry Significance

As specialty contractors expand into new geographic markets and diversify project portfolios, many are restructuring executive leadership to strengthen operational oversight. Prime Electric's leadership transition reflects a broader trend of growing contractors separating strategic and operational responsibilities to support continued expansion while maintaining consistent project delivery across multiple regions.
