Palfinger Unveils Major North American Parts Distribution Center in Illinois

PALFINGER has officially opened its new North American Parts Distribution Center in Huntley, Illinois, marking a major logistics and service milestone for the company. The $15 million investment is intended to reduce delivery delays, improve parts availability, and enhance support for dealers and customers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The 177,000-square-foot facility features more than 60,000 spare parts housed indoors for the company’s full North American product lineup. This includes equipment such as knuckle boom cranes, service cranes, bucket trucks, hooklifts, cable hoists, truck-mounted forklifts, timber loaders, and refuse loaders.

Strategically positioned near Chicago-area transportation infrastructure—including I-90 corridors, O’Hare International Airport, and Rockford’s cargo operations—the facility is designed to improve parts distribution speed and reduce customer downtime.

A key component of the center is its advanced AutoStore robotic picking system, created to improve efficiency and precision. At full operational capacity, the site is expected to process roughly 75,000 shipments per year in coordination with L.I.T., PALFINGER’s global logistics partner.

The Huntley center now functions as the company’s primary hub for North American spare parts operations and complements its expanding online ordering platform. Along with logistics improvements, the company is also aligning this initiative with expanded digital service tools, such as virtual reality training, online technical resources, and a growing fleet of mobile service units.

PALFINGER has stated its strategic goal to double global parts and service revenue by 2030 through sustained investment in after-sales infrastructure across multiple regions.
