Protection of military installations from evolving aerial threats is driving continued investment in integrated defense systems. Parsons has received a $70 million ceiling task order from the U.S. Air Force to support air base air defense capabilities across its Europe-Africa operations.
The award extends Parsons' existing work under the Air Base Air Defense program and covers activities from system integration and testing through deployment, sustainment and operational transition.
The task order supports U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, covering operational capabilities across the two regions. The initial performance period is four years, with three 12-month option periods available.
Parsons will provide integration, testing, fielding, sustainment and maintenance services for point defense systems. The work also includes transitioning those capabilities into operational use.
The systems are intended to protect military personnel, aircraft, installations and other critical assets against aerial threats. The scope specifically includes counter-unmanned aircraft system capabilities, reflecting the growing role of unmanned platforms in the threat environment.
Beyond deployment, Parsons will support the continued operation and maintenance of the defense capabilities covered by the task order. The work is structured to connect testing, fielding, sustainment and operational transition rather than treating deployment as a standalone activity.
The award builds on Parsons' existing Air Base Air Defense support for the Air Force. Its broader defense capabilities include air and missile defense, systems engineering, mission integration and operational support.
For defense infrastructure owners and contractors, the award illustrates the increasing importance of integrated protection systems that can be deployed and maintained across geographically dispersed military facilities.
The combination of system integration, counter-drone capabilities, fielding and long-term sustainment also places emphasis on the full operational lifecycle of air base defense technology. Parsons' expanded role under the task order provides the Air Force with continued technical and operational support across the USAFE-AFAFRICA region.
